The disasters in our Capitol are an embarrassment to this country and a terrible assault on the sensibilities of the huge majority of our many wonderful citizens. Actions that we have condemned in other countries have now invaded our lives. Let us hope that calmness is restored and that we will be a better country as a result of lessons learned during these troubled times. Perhaps now the tranquil effect of reading a good book, even though thrillers don’t aim to calm, will restore a small part of stability to our lives.
Let’s first look at our most recent releases. The December release of Blind Vigil by multiple award-winning author Matt Coyle has exploded onto the scene with much fanfare—and readers have confirmed that the fanfare was much deserved. Coyle’s fan army continues to grow and has elevated him to that circle of esteemed thriller authors. That is pretty much what the San Francisco Chronicle and The San Diego Union-Tribune reported. You do not want to miss out on a Coyle book! And the audio version of Blind Vigil is now available, too!
January brings us Death of a Messenger by Robert McCaw. This gripping tale set on the beautiful Big Island of Hawaii is full of intriguing topics, turns, and twists—and so vividly portrays the Island culture that you will feel like you should have a lei hanging around your neck. Enjoy the fragrance of those beautiful flowers! But, all is not beautiful in Police Chief Detective Koa Kane’s search for justice on The Big Island.
In addition, January marks the release of the paperback version of Passport to Death by Yigal Zur. This is a thrill-a-minute story out of the dark underbelly of Bangkok, Thailand, where Israeli investigator Dotan Naor searches frantically for a missing young girl from a wealthy Israeli family.
And for you, David Putnam fans, The Heartless, the seventh novel in the Bruno Johnson Crime Series, featuring the hard-as-nails super-cop, is now available in paperback.
There’s no better way to get you primed and ready for the February release of the eighth Bruno Johnson crime novel by David Putnam, The Ruthless. More about this next month.
And one more audiobook for you this month—The President’s Dossier by James A. Scott, narrated by Matt K. Baker. This one could not be more timely in today’s political environment!
