Oceanview June 2021 Newsletter

June—and summer—have arrived. It has a strange feel as we all struggle between maintaining the safety precautions that COVID has imposed on us and returning to life as it used to be. It is not an easy balance—now the streets, stores, etc., are populated by a mix of masked and maskless. Unfortunately, vaccination seekers are drastically declining and the fear is that another spike in COVID cases will occur. The good news is that businesses are opening and among those—the bookstores and libraries that we love. So, be cautious, but get yourself some books. Reading is the universal escape—and the universal adventure—all packed into one safe activity. So let’s take a look at some fabulous reading opportunities.

We hope that by now you have a copy of Beyond the Headlines by R. G. Belsky, our May release. Belsky’s popularity is skyrocketing as readers are falling in love with Clare Carlson, that dogged seeker of the truth for her newscasts. We know that she ventures far beyond the “call of duty”, and you can’t help but cheer for her.

Also released in May was Paradox Lake by Vincent Zandri. This chilling psychological suspense thriller introduces Rose Conley. Conley rents an isolated house on a lake in the Adirondacks—to be able to relax, do some sculpting, and spend precious time with her teenage daughter. But her planned heaven turns into a nightmare of epic proportion.

For June we bring back that extraordinary character, Mortimer Angel, the private detective who seems to be a magnet for bodies, or body parts, and for lovely ladies. Author Rob Leininger has a distinctive ability to couple humor, romance, mystery, and suspense to provide a powerful read that attracts a broad spectrum of readers and glues them to the book—until the often-shocking end. Do not miss Gumshoe in the Dark.

In June we will also release Broken Genius by Drew Murray in paperback. If you missed it before, now is the time to catch up. Take this opportunity to meet electronics wizard Will Parker. Parker is driven by a horrendous accident into the world of cyber warfare, hackers, and murderers, and, believe it or not, it takes place at a Comic Con convention, and Parker is now an FBI agent.

In addition to all of these great opportunities, see additional purchasing options below—and, KEEP ON READING
