January 2019 Newsletter

Happy New Year to all of you from the Oceanview Staff. We hope that 2019 will bring good health, happiness and prosperity to all—and we will do our best to bring you good reading as well. We have got some great titles coming!

Our December releases, Wrong Light by Matt Coyle and The Warriors by Paul Batista are doing fabulously. Their popularity is being boosted by some major recognition raining down on their authors. Batista is on television almost daily as a New York (and National) commentator on the well-publicized trial of Mexican drug kingpin, El Chapo, that is underway in New York. Batista, a renowned defense attorney and television personality, has been analyzing the trial as it proceeds. And we just heard the awesome news that Matt Coyle’s Wrong Light is a nominee for Best Mystery Novel for the Lefty Awards sponsored by the Left Coast Crime Writers which will be awarded at the annual meeting in Vancouver in March. Congratulations to both Paul and Matt.

Our January release, The Guilt We Carry, by Samuel Gailey launched with a flourish that came from outstanding reviews in the Chicago Review Of Books and in the New York Journal of Books which called The Guilt We Carry the Breaking Bad of books. This fast-paced thriller stars Alice, a young runaway, who stumbles across a dead drug dealer and a duffel bag containing ninety-one thousand dollars in cash.

January will also see the release of the paperback edition of Vindication by popular author H. Terrell Griffin. Matt Royal goes back to court, in the infamous Villages of Central Florida, the country’s largest housing development community with over 100,000 residents all travelling about in golf carts.

A sneak peek at February shows The Reckless, another Bruno Johnson novel from best-selling author David Putnam. This time Putnam brings you a prequel—Bruno as a young and inexperienced L.A. County Deputy Sheriff and the single father of a four-year-old daughter. Balancing single fatherhood and his responsibilities as a cop in the Violent Crimes Unit is really tough on Bruno. Throw in an FBI “special assignment” case involving a group of teenage criminals and the tension is overwhelming. Do not miss this great read.
