December 2015 Newsletter

We at Oceanview Publishing are getting into the Christmas spirit and we hope that you are too. Remember, books make great Christmas gifts and we have got a bunch of outstanding opportunities for you.

Our December release, Fatal Complications by John Benedict, is looking like a big hit with our fans of medical thrillers. And based on feedback, it is a favorite with mystery/thriller fans in general. So whether or not you want a close up look at what happens in the operating room, this book is for you. The author is a practicing anesthesiologist so it is very realistic. This book would make a wonderful gift.

In January we launch Passenger 19 by USA Today best-selling author, Ward Larsen. Larsen has a huge fan following and his third Jammer Davis novel is sure to be a big hit. In this one, Jammer faces something beyond anything he could ever have imagined. He is sent to investigate a plane crash in Colombia and his young daughter, who was on her way to a semester abroad in South America, is listed on the passenger manifest. Passenger 19 already has outstanding reviews from Publishers Weekly, Library Journal, and Booklist. Library Journal said, “This book is highly recommended for suspense/thriller readers who want authentic characters and a plot so well written that they immediately want to read it all over again.” Make sure that you and those on your gift list read it at least once.

Also in January, be on the lookout for two of our very popular books that will be released as paperback. The Black Stiletto:  Endings & Beginnings by best-selling author, Raymond Benson, the fifth and last book in the Stiletto series, and Yesterday’s Echo, the Anthony Award-winning novel by best-selling author Matt Coyle. These paperbacks are great values and make wonderful stocking stuffers—even for us adult stocking lovers.

Let us tell you about some other exciting news. On December 1, we welcomed Lisa Daily as our new Director of Marketing and Public Relations. Lisa brings a wealth of background, and Oceanview Publishing is thrilled to have her on board.

Method 15/33 by Shannon Kirk was recently licensed for translation in China and Greece, bringing the number of countries translating the book to 15. Also, the Scholastic Library Journal named Method 15/33 as one of only seventeen books that it recommends for teen readers. Congratulations, Shannon, on these exemplary accomplishments. This book is truly for everyone.

Also, The Comfort of Black by Carter Wilson was licensed for translation in Germany to Goldmann/Random House in an auction that resulted in a major five-figure deal, one of the largest thus far for Oceanview Publishing. Congratulations, Carter.

Finally, a wonderful book party for H. Terrell (Terry) Griffin fans to celebrate the launch of Chasing Justice was was held at Oceanview Publishing’s Longboat Key, Florida, headquarters with well over 100 fans of Terry’s Matt Royal novels in attendance. Everyone enjoyed the food, comradery, and the wonderful Villa Maria wine from the Oceanview Vineyards in New Zealand. Thanks, Terry, for being so popular.

We at Oceanview Publishing wish all of you a fabulous holiday season and a fantastic 2016. Keep on reading.
