April 2016 Newsletter

April may have come in like a lamb for some of us, but for others, snow appeared in our neighborhoods. Surprise! Oh well, May should be better. But regardless of the weather, now is a good time for reading. Is there ever a bad time? I don’t think so. We’ll just continue to launch fantastic books from our acclaimed veteran authors and from outstanding new-to-Oceanview authors. But before telling you about our new books let me pass along some other great news.

2016 marks the 10th anniversary of Oceanview Publishing. We’ve had 10 wonderful years. Hard to believe. From five authors in 2006 to one hundred thirty titles today. From five new books a year to twelve to fourteen plus paperbacks, ebooks, audio, TV, and movie opportunities. Thanks to all of you readers and fans for helping us get here. We even announced this milestone by splashing it across the front and back covers of Publishers Weekly, the premier trade journal for the publishing industry, for the March Mystery/Thriller edition. We featured our best-sellers, our many awards, and our new releases.

A few recent accolades—METHOD 15/33 by Shannon Kirk was awarded the Gold Medal in the Mystery/Suspense Category of the Benjamin Franklin Book Awards and THE LOST CONCERTO by Helaine Mario received the Silver Medal in the same category. Congratulations, Shannon and Helaine. LINCOLN’S BODYGUARD by TJ Turner was the first runner up for the Darrell Award. Congratulations, TJ. THE THIRD COINCIDENCE by David Bishop achieved Amazon Weekly Best-seller status and MORTAL DILEMMA by H. Terrell Griffin received a starred review in Library Journal. Congratulations, David and Terry.

Some good news in the foreign markets. THE PERFECT ASSASSIN by Ward Larsen was licensed for publication in the Czech Republic and THE BLACK STILETTO SERIES was licensed for publication in Germany. Congratulations, Ward and Raymond.

Now let’s talk about new books. MORTAL DILEMMA by H. Terrell Griffin released on April 5th, and with its Library Journal starred review is off to a great start. Terry had a full house and a long signing line at his launch party at Bookstore1 in Sarasota, Florida. A huge success. Matt Royal fans will love this one. If you are not already a fan start with this book.

May will bring more excitement with DEAL MASTER the third Jonah Gray novel from Adam Gittlin. If you are not yet a Jonah Gray fan, I highly recommend this book. Jonah bounces from New York to Amsterdam in this action packed thriller. His business is buying and selling skyscrapers and he is very good at it. But will his past force him into a nefarious global scheme that could cost him his reputation, his career, and, most importantly, his life? You have got to read this one. You will not be able to put it down.

May will also see the release of the paperback version of Joe Clifford’s wildly popular LAMENTATION. Jay Porter fans and those of you who have not read this book—it is now available at the new low paperback price. Read it now so you will be ready for Clifford’s next book in the series, DECEMBER BOYS, coming in June—this will be another Clifford winner. Don’t miss either of these books.
