Thank you for considering hosting an event for one of Oceanview’s unique and talented authors. In this section you will find a list of frequently asked questions as well as an outline of Oceanview’s standard promoting practices for author events.

Q: Are Oceanview books returnable?

A. Yes. For additional book ordering information, please see our Distribution Info section.

Q: What is Oceanview Publishing’s co-op policy?

A. As an independent publisher, Oceanview cannot generally provide co-op funds for a signing event. However, on rare occasions, we can accommodate a small co-op request if we deem it a worthwhile venture.

Q: What promotional materials does Oceanview have available for signing events?

A. For each signing event we will automatically provide you with an author photo, cover image, and basic press materials such as a press release or sell sheet. At your request we will provide additional materials such as an ARC. Unfortunately, we rarely have the ability to create promotional materials such as bookmarks, posters, or flyers.

Q: What type of event will best suit the author?

A. As each author has different strengths, it should be understood that each author thrives in a different event setting. Our authors have been known to do anything from a basic meet-and-greet signing to a talk-and-signing, to setting up their own giveaways to store patrons. Options can be discussed when scheduling an event.

Event Promotion General Standards:

1. Press releases will be sent to appropriate media within the vicinity of the event 3-6 weeks prior to event date.

2. E-mail invitations will be sent to Oceanview house list of individuals within vicinity of the event 3-6 weeks prior to event date.

3. E-mail invitations will be sent to author’s contacts at author’s discretion.

4. Event will be announced on Oceanview’s website, Oceanview’s fan page on Facebook, and via frequent Twitter announcements the week preceding the event.

5. Event will be announced on the author’s website and accompanying online venues at the author’s discretion.
