TJ Turner is a novelist, a historian, a research scientist for the US Air Force, and a Federal Agent as a reserve member of the Air Force Office of Special Investigations. He graduated from Cornell University and as a reserve military officer. He has served three tours in Afghanistan and was awarded the Bronze Star Medal in 2013. His essay about his deployments to Afghanistan—The Power of Teddy Bears—was accepted and read on NPR’s This I Believe national essay series. Turner lives in Yellow Springs, Ohio, with his wife, Nancy, and three children.
